The sale of advance train tickets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha has begun on Friday (July 1).
The tickets for July 5 have been sold since 8:00 am at Kamlapur, Airport, Tejgaon, Cantonment, Phulbaria and Kamalapur Railway Shohortoli Platform.
To get the tickets, people started gathering at Kamalapur Railway Station from midnight on Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the advance tickets of July 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will be available on July 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively.
The return tickets for July 11, 12, and 13 will be available on July 7, 8 and 9 respectively. However the tickets of July 14 and 15 will be given on July 11.
People have to collect tickets showing their NID cards or birth registration certificate.
Each passenger will be able to buy maximum four tickets.
Besides, six pairs of special trains will run on different routes on the occasion of Eid.
The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on July 10 as the crescent moon of Zilhajj was sighted on Thursday (June 30).
