Bangladesh Railway authorities started their first train services ensuing Eid-ul-Azha on Saturday.
'Dhumketu Express' train left Kamalapur station at its scheduled time at 6am with the home-bound commuters. The commuters too are traveling at ease.
A total of 52 pairs of trains including local and inter-service will operate on the first day through different destinations.
Two more special trains will be included from Sunday.
Standing tickets for 25 per cent of the total seats are being sold from counters. None are allowed to enter platform without tickets. Adequate security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of passengers' Eid journey, said Dhaka Railway Station manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar to reporters during a briefing.
