At least nine more people, including three children, were killed in the devastating Assam flood, taking the death toll to 71 on Sunday.
Among the victims, six people died due to floods, three others were killed in landslides in Cachar district, reports India Today.
Meanwhile, as per the latest developments, at least eight people were reported missing in the northeastern state.
The number of flood-hit people in Assam went up to over 4.2 million on Sunday evening.
According to the Times of India, 5,137 villages across Assam's 33 districts went underwater. Barpeta is the worst-hit district, where 1.2 million people have been marooned.
